Interesting day at the Point, starting out slow, a couple of frantic
hours and down to a slow finish. Only 3 people to help with the count so we
undoubtedly missed some birds and had an unfortunately high count of unknowns.
191 birds total.
Highlight of the day was an immature Golden Eagle, showing the white wing
panels and white tail base of a juvie. Also, 23 Bald Eagles and 2 of
unknown species. Best day so far for buteos as well, with 27 Red-tails, 14
Red-shoulders and 1 Broadwing. 40 migrating Turkey Vultures as well and 4 Black
vultures which showed to the east and were not counted.
