[CT Birds] Coastal water birds on move

11/1  Stratford, Lordship Seawall, 8:30-11:15am, NNE winds 20 mph, and occasional drizzle  - Migrating waterbirds included: 293 Brant, 77 Canada Geese, 1 Green-winged Teal, 26 Greater/Lesser Scaup, 1 Surf Scoter, 1 White-winged Scoter, 5 Black Scoter, 7 scoter, sp., 6 Long-tailed Duck, 3 Bufflehead,  1 Red-breasted Merganser, 29 Red-throated Loons, 8 Common Loons, 36 NORTHERN GANNETS, 2 Great Blue Herons, 1 Northern Harrier, 5 Laughing Gulls, 6 Tree Swallows. Most birds were migrating west/southwest down the Sound. Movement and visibility diminished when the rain became heavier and steady.

11/1. Stratford, Lordship Seawall - during this current NNE wind and sprinkles, a decent coastal migration of NORTHERN GANNETS, loons, ducks, swallows, etc is occurring now over LI Sound. Still counting; eBird report later.
