A brief stop at Filley Pond in Bloomfield at 2pm today yielded some pretty
good birds. First was a CACKLING GOOSE only about 50 feet from the parking
lot. This bird was really interesting because it had a faint white ring
around the base of the neck. It was hanging out with the many Canada¹s at
the pond probably 150 or so (did not have time to count). There was also
an adult SNOW GOOSE mixed in with the Canada¹s and an adult LESSER
BLACK-BACKED GULL. The gull should be pretty easy to find, it was only one
of the three gulls there.
