Mark Lynch found a GRAY JAY at gate 41 of the Quabbin Reservoir yesterday and Hector Galbraith found a TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE at Halibut Point in Rockport. ? That Gray Jays are coming down could bode well for winter birding, as other species may be on the move too. The Solitaire underscores the fact that this is the time of year for western vagrants to show up in our area!
