From Frank Mantlik, along with crowd-
1/11 Milford, Silver Sands SP- At 5:05 an owl appeared in low flight over the old landfill. It landed in scope view at the base of a small tree, exhibiting close, lengthy ear tufts. Based on this and it's flight style, I concluded that it was a hunting LONG-EARED OWL. Others saw a second owl appear and fly north over the landfill. Then about 5:15, a much larger GREAT HORNED OWL was seen perched in a tree atop the east end of the landfill. A RING-NECKED PHEASANT also called three times from the landfill after sunset. Earlier Tom Murray reported seeing Northern Harrier, Merlin, and Cooper's Hawk.
