Late Sunday afternoon, while hoping for an appearance by the Short Eared
Owls, several of us found a House Wren in a brush pile. It was about 100
yards down the old paved road from the parking lot in a small brush pile about
30 feet left of the road. It attracted our attention by chattering loudly
several times, then tee'd up on the brush pile to give us a look to confirm
the ID. Unusual in winter. Also, Merlin, Coopers Hawk, resident
Red-shouldered Hawk, and a flyover Great Blue Heron.
