2/22 - New Milford yard - 4:48 pm - just saw my resident red-shouldered hawk grab prey from the semi-resident Cooper's hawk - sadly it turned out to be a male bluebird - which I had not seen. It plucked a few feathers and then ate the bird in three gulps, feathers and all. It is now cleaning its beak on the branch. All in less than 4 minutes.
