[CT Birds] Gulls/plankton feeding (lack of)

Echoing Nick's comments there are only a couple hundred gulls around the 
mouth of the Housatonic as seen from Stratford Point, and that is the 
case nearly every day. Plankton feeding has been very minimal, and 
numbers have stayed quite low consistently. I have only seen a couple 
Bonaparte's Gulls so far this year.

Has it been too cold on land and sea for this feeding frenzy? Will it 
come later? Hmm...
