Two PINE SISKINS at the yard feeder were significant in that they were the first at our feeders for the entire fall/winter.  We did have fly-overs at the peak of the fall irruption.  Also, there has been a drake NORTHERN PINTAIL on the Mystic River for the past three days that is often too close to the road to use binoculars (intersection of Pearl and Starr St on the Groton side of the river).  He seems to be slumming with the local Mallards.
