Mid-late afternoon today there were flocks of gulls and waterfowl
plankton feeding close to shore along the Milford/West Haven line.
This includes about 100-200 Bonaparte's Gulls in the area, with 95 of
them roosting at the Oyster River mouth. Highlights included a drake
EURASIAN WIGEON at Merwin Point where there were also 8 NORTHERN
SHOVELERS. Another 5 NORTHERN SHOVELERS at Oyster River mouth. I was
surprised not to note any scarce gull species, but they're out there
somewhere. The next 7-10 days are about peak Little Gull time, FYI.
