[CT Birds] Banding this week (so far) at Birdcraft

Species banded so far this week are:

Ruby-crowned Kinglet
Blue Gray Gnatcatcher
Chestnut-sided Warbler
American Redstart
Black-capped Chickadee
House Wren
Yellow Warbler
Common Yellowthroat
Black and White Warbler
Swamp Sparrow
Northern Waterthrush
Ovenbird
White-throated Sparrow (fat, fat!  Ready to return to Canada)
Hermit Thrush
Veery
Northern Cardinal
Gray Catbird (many!)
Eastern Towhee
American Robin
Yellow-shafted Flicker
Common Grackle
Mourning Dove

Caught but not banded (no size 5 bands) 1 Fish Crow

In the sanctuary but not caught, Baltimore Orioles, Tree Swallows,
Black-crowned Night Heron Canada Geese, Mallards and a DC Cormorant (first
one I've ever seen there).

We are planning a public banding demonstration "Banding and Bagels" for
Saturday morning starting at 7:30 ($5.00 for members, I think).  Check the
CT Audubon website for details.
