[CT Birds] 5/8 - East Rock, New Haven - 8 warbler species, White-crowned Sparrow

We held a Sunrise Birding Spring Migration Workshop this morning at East Rock in
New Haven on Trowbridge Drive at the north end of the park.
We started in the fog and it was a little quiet but still a good morning.  eBird
list below:

Osprey  1
Chimney Swift  8
Red-bellied Woodpecker  2
Downy Woodpecker  1
Northern Flicker  1     Heard only
Great Crested Flycatcher  3
Red-eyed Vireo  2
Blue Jay  9
Fish Crow  1
Common Raven  1
Barn Swallow  1
Black-capped Chickadee  1
Tufted Titmouse  3
White-breasted Nuthatch  1
House Wren  1     heard only
Wood Thrush  3     Seen well and heard along the road
American Robin  15
Gray Catbird  5
European Starling  8
Cedar Waxwing  6
Worm-eating Warbler  2     One seen very well perched and singing over the road
Black-and-white Warbler  4
Common Yellowthroat  1
Northern Parula  3
Magnolia Warbler  1
Blackpoll Warbler  4
Black-throated Blue Warbler  2     One female seen at close range.  Male singing
at a distance
Yellow-rumped Warbler  4
Chipping Sparrow  4
White-crowned Sparrow  1     adult male seen well on the bridge
Scarlet Tanager  2     At least one male and one female
Rose-breasted Grosbeak  2     Building a nest near the bridge
Brown-headed Cowbird  2
Baltimore Oriole  4
