A fantastic paddle out to Cokenoe and environs this evening didn't turn up anything spectacular, but there were really good numbers of birds around with several highlights, including 4 LEAST TERNS amongst the Commons (they nest in decent numbers), upwards of 30 SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER, large numbers of Dunlin and BB Plover, LITTLE-BLUE HERON, WILLOW FLYCATCHER (on the island), MERLIN, and all the regulars (both Night Herons, Semipalmated Sandpipers and Plovers, Willet, Oystercatcher, etc.
