5/27 Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center 9:45-12:45, mid tide
receding, overcast, around 70F.
A brief walk on the Long Island Sound side, (9:45-10:10),walking to
1 singing Yellow warbler, singing Chest sided warbler, singing Willow
flycatcher, and on beach by lagoon, 1 Greater Yellowlegs, 4 Blackbellied
Plovers, 21 Semipalmated Sandpipers,
8 Least terns, 4 ruddy Turnstones, 2 Killdeer, 6 piping Plovers,
1 Mute swan, 2 Mockingbirds chasing each other, Cardinals heard, House wren
singing, flyover D.C. Cormorant, Snowy Egret, Great Egret, song sparrow.
Our Ospreys are proud parents of 3 chicks, with beautiful petite masks on
them. The female was on nest at 10:15 with the 3 chicks. At 11:35am, the
male brought in a fish that the female began to feed the chicks.
11:55am, the male was feeding the chicks and then he took the rest of the
fish and flew to perch.
At 12:30pm, the female and 3 chicks were napping.

On the marsh was 1 Willet which landed briefly and took off-beautiful black
and white wing markings, also 4 mallards, Tree swallows, Common Grackles,
Mourning doves, Red winged blackbirds, 1 American crow, Song sparrows.
