Went to White Memorial after work this morning to try to find a nemesis bird for me in CT, Virginia rail. Staked out the boardwalk at Little Pond which was very active with 6 MARSH WREN, 4 WILLOW FLYCATHCERS, 2 ALDER FLYCATCHERS, SWAMP SPARROWS, and other usual marsh birds, but no rail.  Stopped by Cemetery Mud Hole (given the low water table) on the way out and was rewarded with 3 VIRGINIA RAIL, a mother and 2 railings(?) poking in and out of the marsh grasses on the far side.
