It doesn't sound like true syntax, according to this report, but still interesting.

I saw this story on the BBC News iPhone App and thought you should see it:

Babbler bird calls 'convey meaning'

A bird can communicate by rearranging sounds into calls that convey meaning in the same way that humans use language, say scientists.
