​8/5  Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center  10am-1PM, low tide
rising, 80F, sunny/partly cloudy.
At 10am one adult osprey on perch, one in mudflat and another far out on
spit.  Around 10:30am 1 adult osprey and one juvenile  were on nest eating
fish-lots of calling.  All through the morning, the ospreys were coming and
going, all flying.
On marsh:  3 American black ducks, 26 mallards, 9 D.C. Cormorants, 6 Snowy
Egrets, 8 Great egrets, 7 Mute swans, 100+ Semipalmated sandpipers,  2
Glossy ibis foraging in marsh, 2 Yellow crowned night herons ( 1 adult, 1
juvenile),  1 Laughing gull , 1 Ring billed gull devouring a crab, 3
Greater Yellowlegs, Least terns, lots of fiddler crabs.
The Purple Martin colony is quite active and noisy.
On grounds, 2 Mourning doves, Mockingbirds, 1Carolina wren, Robins, Common
Grackles.
