8/7. Milford, Milford Point (CT AUDUBON COASTAL CENTER) - Fifty one bird species tallied during morning walk, with highlights of BLACK TERN (juvenile resting with Least Tern flock on tidal gravel bars on Sound side 9:00-9:15), NORTHERN PINTAIL (female in marsh channel visible from tower), LONG-TAILED DUCK (summering male on western sandbars), 10 YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT HERONS, adult BALD EAGLE (flying over salt marsh, then being aerially attacked by several Ospreys), NORTHERN HARRIER, 10 species of shorebirds, 1000 Common Terns, and glorious weather at the beach.
