 Tuesday, September 8, 2015 - 7:30 pm - Speaker: Daniel Field
Birding in the Fourth Dimension: Building a Fossil Life List
Fossils represent the only direct evidence of the history of life, and the bird fossil
record reveals extraordinary details about how, when, and why modern bird diversity
has come to be. This talk will explore what the bird fossil record tells about the origin
of birds themselves, as well as the origin of feathers, flight, warm-bloodedness, and
even your ABA list! Join Daniel Field, a PhD candidate in the Dept. of Geology and Geophysics at Yale University to discover a new way of looking at birds.
The meeting is free and open to the public. Social time begins at 7:00 PM. The location is St James's Episcopal Church, 1018 Farmington Ave, West Hartford.
