Tuesday's New York Times (9/15/10) ran a short article that said "the Argentine ant, already know as one of the world's most widespread and damaging pests, may be infecting honeybees with a deadly virus." They forage in the same places as honeybees. The ant also carries a second virus that could be useful in controlling the ants which could save us from using large amounts of pesticides.
Off topic, but of interest to many.
