From Jerry Connolly and The Audubon Shop Sat morning Birdwalk Crew:
9/26 - Hammonasset SP -- AMERICAN GOLDEN PLOVER, with a couple Semi-palmated Sandpipers and Greater Yellowlegs at the "Boulder Pond" at Meig's Point. The hybrid TRI-COLORED X LITTLE BLUE HERON (looking just like a Little Blue, except for its yellow lores) was there as well, though by 10:30AM it had moved over to the marsh just east of the nature center parking lot where it was located with two LITTLE BLUE HERONS (one of which was still showing quite a bit of white white from last year's juvenile plumage). Willard's Isle was fairly quiet except for some Golden-crowned Kinglets, Magnolia Warbler, and Red-eyed Vireo. A male and a female Merlin were also seen in the vicinity.
