Hello all,Here's some food for thought to get CT birder's juices going.
Sterling, MA  10/2 - Leach's Storm-Petrel
Wachusett Reservoir (Worcester Co.), Ma  10/1 - 10/3  Northern Wheatear
Race Point, Provincetown, MA  10/2 - Sabine's Gull, 958 Northern Fulmars, 318 Jaegers
E. Andover, NH  9/29-10/2  -  Rufous Hummingbird
Northern Manhattan, NYC  10/1  - Red Phalarope
Plum Is., near Orient, Long Is., NY  9/25 - Northern Wheatear
Staten Is., NY 9/28  - Say's Phoebe
Avalon, NJ  10/2  - 2 Sooty Terns
Heinz NWR, Philadelphia, PA  9/25  -  Anhinga
And it was under similar weather conditions (3 days of soaking rain) Oct 15-16, 1985,  that I discovered CT's first Sharp-tailed Sandpiper (a juvenile) among 50 Pectoral Sandpipers in rain pools at Veteran's Park, Norwalk.
Good birding,
Frank Mantlik
