[CT Birds] Friday at LPP

The winds should shift over to moderate NW by this evening.  So, out of all the days from October 5-13, tomorrow may be the best at Lighthouse Point Park.  Not great, just the best.  

It's not much of a front, but we'll take it.  And based on this weather (vs. Sunday's immediate return to southerly winds), the BWD BigSit! will take place tomorrow, at Lighthouse.  Sites can choose either this Saturday or Sunday.

10/9 - New Haven - Lighthouse Point Park Hawkwatch - 9 migrating raptors: 3
Osprey, 1 Northern Harriers (Grey Ghost), 1 Cooper's Hawk, 1 American
Kestrels, 2 Merlin's, and 1 PEREGRINE FALCON adult.  Also 11 Double-crested
Cormorants and 2 Eastern Bluebirds.  In the park were a lot of Palm
Warblers and Eastern Phoebes.  The garden had a lot of Monarchs flying
