Bird giving crippling views allowing AJ and Jory to get photos.Very cooperative bird and most likely the same bird I had a few weeks ago. Still gray on the bird but it is so much more colorful and a brighter green. So far we've had a Nashville warbler and Blue-headed vireo also as well as YRumped and Palm warblers everywhere.

10/17/15 - Bluff Point, Groton w/Phil Rusch:
Over 400 warblers of seven species, 200 of both kinglets, over 300 White-throated Sparrows. ?Nothing particularly noteworthy - almost all warblers were Yellow-rumped as expected. ?A handful of titmice and White-breasted Nuthatches were doing morning flight and Blue Jays were on the move. ?

Donna Rae Caporaso reported two Sandhill Cranes flying west from Walnut Beach a while ago. Unfortunately, we didn't pick them up from Stratford Point.

Very nice 9 AM walk. Nothing too rare, but a few Bonaparte's Gulls and one Common Tern. A flock of about 40 American Oystercatchers was nice too and good views/numbers of the expected things.

Who says lightning can't strike 3 times. Matt Popp and I just had a juvenile GOLDEN EAGLE (undoubtedly a different individual than yesterdays with much larger white carpal patches) heading SW with a juv Bald. An adult Bald then came in and the Golden took several dramatic passes at it before heading away. Should be a good afternoon for hawks.
