Hammonasset Beach SP, Madison, CT 2 October 2015 7:40 AM; The previously
reported Clay-coloed Sparrow was seen near the Cedar Island picnic pavilion
at the top of a dead tree immediately to the west. It then sought refuge in
the still-leaved trees to the north. It was not with other sparrows. At the
end of Willards Island I watched an adult bald eagle harass an osprey until
it dropped it's large fish that was then grabbed in free fall by the eagle.
A single hooded merganser worked one if the channels. Yellow-rumps and both
kinglets are everywhere.
