>From Steve Spector, 10/28/15, Milford Point--very high winds and higher water: flock of about 300-500 shorebirds first and western end, then at Cedar Beach.  Main sandbar mostly completely washed over, and around 11:25 AM a fisherman was knocked over by the pounding surf while he was trying to return from what was left of western tip: he managed to swim to shore after having been under water.  He's OK and being taken care of by Milford police/rescue, but be careful at the coast.  Did see the Hudsonian Godwit fly by.  Also of note, with the sparitna almost completely submerged, the Ammodramus sparrows (the ones I could see were Nelson's) were sheltering in the short grass.  charsjs at sbcglobal.net
