Yesterday's NW winds in Cape May, New Jersey resulted in a big push of 236 CAVE SWALLOWS passing by the hawk watch, reported by Tom Reed. His report:northwest winds brought a significant influx of Cave Swallows to
Cape May Point. I tallied 236 moving west past the hawkwatch platform
between 7am-3pm, occasionally in groups of as many as 9 individuals. The
flight was heaviest during the late-AM and faded out by 3:30pm, yet 10-20
Caves were still visible at any given time this evening, feeding over the
marsh and ponds at Cape May Pt. State Park. - See more at: http://birding.aba.org/message.php?mesid=1021770&MLID=NJ01&MLNM=New%20Jersey#sthash.ZDooxzFw.dpuf

And this morning, Don Freiday reported a MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD at Forsythe (Brigantine) NWR, NJ.
Perhaps the predicted strong West winds on Friday and the NW winds on Saturday in CT will result in more Cave Swallows being detected.
