Jan Ellen Spiegel of the Connecticut Mirror wrote a very informative article on the proposed Northeast Corridor rail improvements for which there is currently an active draft EIS.

Even if it seems a long shot that this will happen, some proposed ideas for rail improvements in the Northeast Corridor could have significant negative impacts on the environment, and wildlife. Now is the time to comment considering there is an official Draft Environmental Impact Statement. It is worth reviewing Jan Ellen Spiegel's recent article on the subject for a good summary: http://ctmirror.org/2016/01/04/massive-rail-plan-leaves-connecticut-hopeful-but-mystified/

There are two more public hearings in Connecticut on the issue on January 13th at the Lyceum, 227 Lawrence Street, Hartford (presentations at 4:30 and 6 PM with public comment opportunity following). Comments will be accepted until January 30th.
