While out on my Mid-Winter Eagle Watch yesterday, there was a good raft of American Wigeons and Red Breasted Mergansers, among mallards, black ducks and geese, while an Adult Eagle sitting in tree right above them at Gulf Pond.

Sunday afternoon at 4:00: a male American Wigeon in the wetlands east of the bandshell on Iron Horse Blvd. in Simsbury.  The bird was associating with Canada Geese, Mallards, and Black Ducks in open water just to the north of the beaver lodge.
