James Smith found a putative bird on the 1st Feb at Turner's Fall, Massachusetts that came in again on the 2nd.http://pioneerbirding.blogspot.com/ Based on discussion to rule out the obvious HEGUxLBBG and new flight shots showing the open wing, the bird is "good" and possibly belongs to the Iberian race michahellis.
With no acceptable records for Mass now, this might be the first state record and is quite a monster rarity away from Newfoundland.
The bird is an afternoon rooster only and apparently does not appear before 4pm.
May the larus be with you!
