Interesting. I'm sure some recall the Great Horned Owls nesting in the same spruce as many Monk Parakeets. This was at one of the first colonies, in Bridgeport's Black Rock neighborhood. This nesting took place about 25 years ago.

Subject: [CT Birds] Bald Eagles in New Haven

This morning, on my way to work, I saw a pair of adult Bald Eagles standing together atop one of the large parakeet stick nests in the large tree at the corner of Ella Grasso Blvd and Legion Avenue in New Haven. I'm not sure if they were checking it out as a possible nesting site. It didn't look like they were after the parakeets that were no doubt hunkered down inside. This would certainly be an interesting development if they nested there!
