HI!
I'm not sure this is posting to the list or going to you directly, but a friendly birder yesterday introduced me to eBird from Cornell for lists and also Merlin from Cornell for identifications, both available for Android in the Play Store for free.

Subject: [CT Birds] Into the 21st Century

I think I'm the last birder in the state of Ct. to own a smart  phone, but
I'm finally taking the plunge. I would like to know if you have  any  strong
preferences for (Android) "Birding Apps" or others that might  be useful to
a birder, such as GPS.

I would also like to know what birding lists might be most  useful in the
state of California (It seems there are about 50 of  them).

Sorry if this is not quite on subject.
