Hi all,

There were approximately 4,000 gulls between Seaside Park in
Bridgeport and Long Beach in Stratford today. There was some plankton
feeding off Seaside Park, though mostly by waterfowl rather than
gulls. The gulls at Seaside were mostly either roosting or picking
food off the shoreline rocks as the tide dropped. In the evening there
were about 1500 gulls plankton feeding off of Long Beach. Low gull
diversity continues locally, but hopefully that will change as numbers
increase with the plankton event. Here are some highlights:

Seaside Park:
Iceland Gull (third cycle type)
Lapland Longspur nearly in breeding plumage (west end)
6 Snow Bunting (west end)

Long Beach:
6 Bonaparte's Gull
16 Snow Bunting
Boat-tailed Grackle (one male scoped across the marsh in a tree near
the warehouses)
