A few obvious migrants showed up this morning including the 2 adult Yellow-crowned Night-herons at Grays Creek,10 Great Egrets in the Mill Pond marsh seen from the Sherwood Island SP west end viewing platform(4 seen at Compo Beach flying east probably from Cockenoe Island
rookery),8 Great Blue Herons flew into the marsh behind the model airplane field at Sherwood Island,4 singing and calling Eastern Towhees(3 males,1 female) seen on west side of Sherwood,1 singing Ruby-crowned Kinglet at SISP(possibly the bird seen during the winter)and 6 Tree Swallows,2 were seen at the new Swallow box on the west end of Sherwood.
Many thanks to Audubon CT and Tom Baptiste, who constructed the box, for their generous donation.
