Despite the vicious, numbing, and frustratingly persistent wind Sherwood Island was pretty birdy over the two hours I was there this afternoon.

Highlights included an EASTERN MEADOWLARK on the airplane field, PURPLE MARTINS back at the gourds, a LESSER YELLOWLEGS that flew over the marsh calling, and several NORTHERN GANNETS right off the beach.

Other birds included Great Egret, White-winged Scoter, American Kestrel, Savannah Sparrow, Brown Thrasher, Brown Creeper, Chipping Sparrow, and a ridiculous number of Robins.
