4/27 Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center 10am-1PM
sunny, 55F, low tide rising.
Grounds and viewed from windows facing marsh:
Both ospreys were on perch at 10AM. There is one egg laid on 4/25, but
female is not always on the nest. She returned to the nest around 10:20.
At noon, they were copulating.
56 Brant, Canada Geese, 25 Dunlin, mallards, 1 Greater Yellowlegs,, 22
Purple Martins at the gourd condo, 60+ Green winged teal, 12 Mute Swans, 8
D.C. Cormorants, 1 Great black backed gull eating a striped sea bass, 3
Great Egrets, 3 Snowy Egrets, 6 Tree swallows flying through marsh,
2 of them in a nest box, and another 2 Tree Swallows on nest box on Long
island sound side.
On grounds: 3 White throated sparrows, Common Grackles, Robins, 1 male
