Food for thought on this rainy afternoon.Verified reports from the northeast:
Maine: ANCIENT MURRELET (5/13) and RED-BILLED TROPICBIRD (5/12) both at Seal Is. NWR.            Also LITTLE EGRET continues, Falmouth.

New York:  WILSON'S PLOVER (5/11) Democrat Point, Suffolk County (Long Island), BICKNELL'S THRUSH (5/12 Staten Is.).
Massachusetts:  WHITE-WINGED TERN (5/8) Race Point, Cape Cod.
New Jersey:  FORK-TAILED FLYCATCHER (Assunpink through at least 5/7), CURLEW SANDPIPER         (Heislerville through today), BICKNELL'S THRUSH (Cape May).        Newfoundland:  GRAY HERON (5/7)

Migration can present some surprises. Keep your eyes to the skies.
