5/20/16 -- East Rock Park, New Haven/Hamden -- with Ed Sadowski and Bill Banks-- solitary sandpiper at Mill River; yellow-billed cuckoo heard and seen at blocked-off circle at beginning of Trowbridge Drive; hooded warbler in old archery field; and Wilson's, Blackburnian and Canada warblers along Livingston Street extension (the one-way road of many curves between East Rock Road and Whitney Avenue). Note as to the latter: thanks to some kind souls, the small park on the west side of this road now has walking paths, so it is possible to bird the area without risk of being hit by a motorist.
Edgehill Road at Laurel Road, Hamden (near water company property) -- Tennessee warbler, singing.
Back yard, New Haven -- much quieter today with five warbler species including a male yellow-rumped and a male black-throated blue.
