5/25 - Hammonasset SP - - WHIMBREL (seen briefly from Cedar Island observation platform), BOAT-TAILED GRACKLE (Cedar Island trail)
On Willard’s Island: ALDER FLYCATCHER (rare for Hammonasset; first heard by Paul Desjardins), Pileated Woodpecker (also rare for Hammo), at least 10 Wood Warblers highlighted by Bay-breasted (female), Canada, Wilson’s, many Magnolias and 12+ Blackpoll Warbler, 3 female Orchard Orioles (in addition to the pair nesting on Willard’s), Ruby-throated Hummingbird building nest… ROCKIN”!
