​6/15  Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center   9am-12:30pm. mid tide
receding, sunny,, 68-80F.  Very busy today with campers, as well as
visitors from Australia, California and Massachusetts.
At 9 am, the female osprey was on the nest.  10:15, the male osprey returns
but no fish.  Female is housekeeping.  There is only 1 chick which hatched
last Wednesday.  The other 2 eggs have not hatched.   At 10:45, the male
brought in a fish and female was feeding the chick.   Around noon, the male
was on the nest, while the female was flying around the marsh, then she
returned to resume care of the chick.
The Purple Martin pair on the camera is tending to 5 eggs.
On marsh:  5 Great Egrets, 1 Snowy Egret, 1 Yellow crowned night heron, 4
Mute swans.
On the grounds:  2 Cedar Waxwings-one feeding the other berries by front
2 Tree swallows visiting their nest box quite often, Cardinals, 1 Common
Yellowthroat singing, Red Winged blackbirds, Common Grackles, Mourning
Doves, Robins.
We have a volunteer Master Gardener, Carole,  who is creating a beautiful
pollinator garden in front of our building.  Come visit.
