Ospreys are fledging young now. There are variations in timing according to food availability and weather. Some nests have already fledged young and some are not yet there. Wing flapping by the young is a sign that they are gaining strength and are close to fledging. The fledged young will remain close to the nest for a period of time and will return to it for food. The length of time for that stage will vary. Nests with multiple young may have days or over a week from first fledge to last.
