7/31/16 Allen's Meadows
At this time of year, the playing fields at Allen's host the post breeding Swallows. Currently there are over 100 here the majority being Barn Swallows but includes Tree, Bank, Cliff and also Chimney Swifts. Quite a show!
Yesterday I looked for the adult Western Sandpiper at Stratford's Animal Control marsh but came away instead with pics of two first year Western Sandpipers instead. Each bird was larger than the surrounding Semipalms, had black legs and a longer bill slightly bent but lacking a true "fine tip".
