With the end of a front passing through and diminishing North winds the
total was 214 with 76 Osprey. Had a kettle of 12 at one time with Broad
Wings mixed in. Birds were very high by 9 AM, making spotting difficult before
the clouds came in around 11. 16 Bald Eagles, coming over in small groups,
2-4 at a time. Birds going due east -west for the most part, but all over
the sky. 43 Sharp-shinned hawks, 25 Broad-wings, 7 Northern Harriers, 17
Coopers Hawks, 15 Am Kestrels.
3 Black Vultures hanging around the area all morning, separate from the
several TVs. When the wind changed to S it was like someone dropped the
curtain, except for 1 final Northern Harrier just before I left at 2:30.
