Tom Murray found a nice adult Clay-colored Sparrow by the dirt pile near the auxiliary gate at Stratford Point this evening. Hanging out with Song Sparrows.
It was also feeding on the other side of the fence on the Coast Guard Property. You can bird from the road or driveway there, but there is no trespassing on the lighthouse property.
Tom also likely had the Mourning Warbler this evening in the same spot (near the main gate along Prospect Ave.)
The other birds of note today were 8 Bobolinks in the Emily Nissley Bird Garden (formerly the feed plot) near the office, a juvenile Northern Harrier and an American Kestrel.
