10/8. Madison. The annual CT ORNITHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION Sparrow Workshop, led by Chris Loscalzo and Frank Mantlik, was held at both Bauer Farm Park and Hammonassett Beach State Park. It was well attended by 36 participants. Of the 57 species recorded, highlights were 8 species of sparrows, including 200 CHIPPING, 4 WHITE-CROWNED and 1 SALT MARSH/NELSON'S SPARROWS. Other highlights were the hunting antics of a juvenile RED-TAILED HAWK, MERLIN, LITTLE BLUE HERON, NASHVILLE WARBLER, crippling views of a very cooperative CLAPPER RAIL, and two HARBOR SEALS.
