During these types of gull movements in the past (and this sounded like a really big one), I've seen Lesser Black-backed, Iceland and once a Glaucous moving with the Herring Gulls at Lighthouse. That's just one of many reasons I love that place.

I stopped into Lighthouse Pt today from 145p to 300p. Over that time about 620 gulls, almost entirely Herring Gulls, steadily moved down the coast to the west. I also noted this movement while driving to and from the park. Dana said it had been going on all day. I'd imagine that several thousand HERGs were on the move today.
A juv Lesser Black-backed Gull was briefly on the beach at LPP today.
