A small sandpiper, the RED KNOT, is now listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act...the first U.S. bird listed whose future is imperiled by global warming. In The Narrow Edge, Deborah Cramer accompanies red knots on their extraordinary migration from Tierra del Fuego up into their Arctic nesting grounds.
