The State has done a wonderful job at Cromwell Meadows restoring hiking trails and opening habitat that had become a real mess. I am among the first to criticize when government ignores our natural resources, and I am pleased to give praise when it is merited. Regarding birds, the more noteworthy this afternoon were some common warblers, bluebirds, eagles and Carolina wrens. Flood water is still high, but all trails are passable.
