While at Dunlap Lake in Darien searching for a Bittern, I just had an adult
PROTHONOTARY WARBLER (yellow body, black eyes, blue wings) singing and
foraging around in the cattails off the Lake Bridge trail. Watched for
about 15 minutes before it flew off. I heard singing for an additional 10
minutes but could not relocate it. Distinguished from Blue-winged by lack
of white in wing, lack of black eyeline, and clear song.
