Birding at Trout Brook Valley Preserve in Easton this morning with Rachel
Keneally, we found a female DICKCISSEL near the top of the hill in the
orchard. It was initially perched on the boundary fence next to Aquarian
property (close to the stone overlook bench), then flew to a low bush while
we watched it for several minutes. There were also 40 Bobolinks in the
area, mostly females but a few singing males. Also notable were two ALDER
FLYCATCHERS today - one singing from the marsh north of the Bradley Road
parking area at Trout Brook Valley, and one singing and seen in the marsh
behind Aspetuck Cemetery (likely the same bird that was here yesterday).
